Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria, with a population of 351,000 citizens
Plovdiv is one of the oldest towns on the Balkan Peninsula.
The Thracians discover the town at the first time and call it Evmolpia(the name of the mythic hero, king and singer)
At 342 BC Filip Second of Macedonia conquered those land and make it The town of Filip(Filipopolis)
72BC The Roman  Empire conquered Bulgaria and they gave the new name of the town – Trimontsium(the town between three hills)
Ancient Theatre
It was built at the beginning of 2 century AC at the time of Traian Emperor.
It was one of the important buildings at those times with remarkable architecture  and pomp.
The theatre  kept  from 5 to 7 thousand  spectators.
The stage was decorate with fries , cornice and statues.
